Why....

#1
Why have we ditched race events? This new method of tirelessly racing people is ridiculously boring.
I have tried to motivate myself to do a bit of racing and I last about 10 minutes.
To be honest I'm amazed that so many people are actually mindlessly going *list drivers, scroll down race**list drivers, scroll down race* For hours on end.
This stupid new method also favours those with a faster internet.

I don't think I'll be racing until it reverts back.

Also I think networth should effect exp gained

tbh this method of racing is the ONLY thing that keeps me going. I don't have 16 hours a day sitting there waiting for some mindless dipshit that's paying more attention to his porn than the game to accept, then waiting 3 minutes for the race to go by.

I can generally burn all my members creds in oh I guess about 30 minutes or so, less if I work, and then come back and do it later.

You're right in that it does somewhat benefit those with faster internet, but not nearly as much as the old style benefited those with countless hours on their hands to do nothing but wait.

Sorry, but I really do disagree that the old style was better.

there's pro's and con's to the old way//the new way

i personally think the old way was better, just because if you were actually a good racer, your stats would show it, not if you can spend/use prize credits (no offense anyone) your stats will show it..

i personally liked event racing better.. but.. oh the fuk well.. it's mc's past time.. if ray wanted it that way, he wouldn't have changed it =/

Doesn't mean shit, the old way my stats were the same as now. Maybe not here but TS, SH and MC all used the same style and I was atop the leader boards when I ran.

It was just annoying as fuck for those of us with other things to do =P

other things to do!

at least with a race every 4 mins you could race then do shit for a while.

Like this i can hardly burn creds quicker than i get them!

I have no idea who bitched and moaned about events but they must have been drunk.

This way is just that monotonous and bland its a joke. At least before the was some variation

I agree with Joe Da Booger. Though there are many flaws with the old system as well, I cant believe someone would argue that "this method gives them 'more time'" This is personally why I dont race, let alone the fact it is boring, its like a 96 hour process of racing, something which I dont have.
Racing is boring and bland, requires no skill whatsoever, and makes people set these ridiculous bars to be reached.

Wait, whats that? Thats correct. I said that RACING REQUIRES NO SKILL. Keep all the cries of contempt to yourself. Anyone can click click click for a race, but not everyone has all day to do it. Therefor, the people with the most free time are the "skilled" racers. Psh, ALL YOUR DOING IS CLICKING! Maybe its just me, but you can have 25 thousand races won, and to me it still isnt skill. U simply had a shitload of free time to be racing friend.

Ray teased at going back to old rules for a "beta" run, if we could gather enough support. Needless to say, no one wanted it. I for one am not challenging a single player until its changed. And if that means I never race again...so be it. Its more fun stealing anyways then droning away at a computer screen for hours clicking away.

Good Post Joe

crazyfrog555 Wrote:Yo Joe,you know you dont have to keep doing list drivers then player...you can go to bottom of list..click a person..race them..then just click back twice to get there or just open up like 25 - 50 tabs and just race them...

One of the 'worst' ways of racing. Opening up tabs slows your computer, plus if you hit the bot patrol "click the "fire hydrant" it fucks up all of your tabs. ALL of them. Let alone it takes a lot less than three seconds to click from tab to tab, leaving you waiting the extra few seconds just to race.

Try racing your history over and over, or do what crazy first said and list driver, race someone, then just double click the back button and continue...

Some points.

1. Not much about text based games is skill. Anyone that runs around claiming to be superior playing these games is delusional. There are some aspects of the game that take knowledge, tuning, hitting. None of them take "skill" seriously there is no reaction time, nothing remotely like skill.

2. The image verify does NOT fuck up all tabs, you click it in one and the others respond. I however do agree that the tab racing is annoying and slow in my opinion. I much prefer to cycle the pages in one browser window. I use the page down button to make finding the next driver easier.

3. Racing in CI games has always been painfully boring, you are correct there too. The difference is now if you're fast enough you can make it go away much quicker. I can't believe you argue this style of racing doesn't give you more time O.o You never have to wait for someone to accept. List drivers, race, challenge, rinse repeat. If you get close to the 5 second limit, easily doable then you get 12 races a minute. 720 races an hour.... there is no way in hell you could burn your credits in an hour racing using the old style, just wasn't possible. Racing offline was a waste, the exp was so much lower...

So you're right in a lot of respects, there is no skill involved in anything we do, racing is boring, which is why some of us get it out of the way asap.

The rest is personal preference in my opinion. You like the old way, I like the new way. Neither took more skill than the other, one seems faster to me, one seems more fun to you. I guess it's about what is important to how you like to play.

yes but the old way may have taken longer for each race, but you gained exp accordingly. The level cap was much lower than this one is, we will prolly never know what the true cap is now. If you set it back to the old way of racing, and adjust the exp and levels, theres no problem.

Honestly 60+ levels is absolutely ridiculous. True, it may have taken longer for each race, but it didnt take nearly as long as it does today to get to max level. I also dont remember it being nearly as tedious to get to 20+ back then, as it is to get to 50+ now.

Honestly I dont care if they leave it the same, but adjust the levels and exp. Why cant their be 30 (or anything else) levels instead of an infinite amount?

I also wouldnt describe either method as "fun" Racing is going to be boring regardless, because your playing a text based game. Slips races are gone now. Money races are gone. Basically, those were the only thing that helped make racing interesting instead of the same click click click.

Back in the day, your right you couldnt just "burn" your credits in an hour. Technically back then you could only do 12 races an hour, but those 12 races gave you the same exp that you gain in 1 hour of racing now.....do you see where the problem arises?

Back in the day 100 wins was equal to 1000 wins these days, if talking about exp. So it all evened out. Less racing, more exp per race. More racing, less exp per race.

Honestly I DO NOT want to go back to accepting declining races, because then you are at the mercy of other players to get your level ups. But honestly, you can get top ten with level 20, or even level 10 if your good enough. WTF would I level up to 55+ if Im not going for IDE? There is no point in even trying to get that high unless you wanna brag or go for IDE.

Otherwise....Level 10 is perfect for me. If there is a point of having so many levels, its beyond me. The old levels seemed to work fine in my opinion
