It's one of the most popular word puzzles in the world, and there is about 15 different ways to solve it by changing a word or pronouncing it.
It also depends on if it's spoken, or typed. It's become a major quest for many word experts, not only to think of different ways it can be solved but also to think of all the words and hyphenated words that end in gry.
There are quite a few that are quite archaic, including the word gry itself.
It's quite an interesting problem, but the solution I talked about is the most popular amongst Americans.
Edit: Energy being the answer, is also a popular form of the question. Assuming you didn't google it, that is quite impressive that you came up with that.
