To be quite blaunt and honest I really hate those. I'm sorry but they just don't tickle my picle.
I do like Pandas Idea of Carrying on with the Flag Idea but at least with IDE it's areas of the world and it is a bit different now. BEcause it's not seperate areas of the world. Will keep thinking about Ideas and get back to you.

But you cant make it to much graphic, its to small, it wont look nice
And you dont want te icon because it is beautiful, you want it because you want to show that you are the best @ mc to show off

Are we sticking with the simpleness? Need some feedback here gotta know which direction to go... In the round ones I just added the color to make them more identifiable.. You could make them all the same color..
